Biak Numfor, 7 Agustus 2023. Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) menjadi momen penting bagi mahasiswa Angkatan 2020 Program Studi Ekonomi Pembangunan Universitas Cenderawasih. Di pulau yang indah dan berwarna-warni, Biak Timur, para mahasiswa tidak hanya memperoleh pengalaman lapangan, tetapi juga memberikan kontribusi positif bagi masyarakat setempat.
Biak Timur menjadi panggung bagi mahasiswa Ekonomi Pembangunan untuk menerapkan teori yang mereka pelajari ke dalam kehidupan nyata. Di Kabupaten Biak Distrik Oridek ada tujuh kampung yang ditempati mahasiswa KKN (Kuliah Kerja Nyata) yaitu: Kampung Marau, Kampung Wadibu, Kampung Anggopi, Kampung Anggaduber, Kampung Animi, Kampung Kakur, dan Kampung Mnuwar. Dalam KKN ini, mereka terlibat dalam berbagai kegiatan, mulai dari analisis ekonomi lokal, pendampingan usaha kecil menengah, hingga pengembangan program ekonomi yang berkelanjutan.
Lebih dari sekadar akademik, KKN di Biak Timur memberi mahasiswa kesempatan untuk memperkuat keterampilan sosial. Mereka belajar berkolaborasi dengan masyarakat setempat, beradaptasi dengan budaya lokal, serta mengembangkan solusi yang relevan dan berkelanjutan bagi perkembangan ekonomi daerah salah satunya dengan berkonstribusi dalam pelatihan penyusunanan RPJMK di distrik Oridek Kabupaten Biak Timur.
Partisipasi mahasiswa dalam KKN di Biak Timur tidak hanya memberikan pengalaman pribadi, tetapi juga memberikan kontribusi nyata bagi pengembangan ekonomi lokal. Melalui pemahaman yang mereka peroleh, mahasiswa mampu memberikan rekomendasi kebijakan, ide-ide inovatif, dan kesejahteraan masyarakat setempat. Partisipasi mahasiswa juga terdapat pada salah satu proker yaitu mengajar cara hidup sehat di sekolah dasar.
Tentu saja, perjalanan KKN tidak lepas dari tantangan. Mahasiswa dihadapkan pada realitas kompleks yang mungkin tidak pernah mereka alami sebelumnya. Namun, melalui kerja keras, kerjasama tim, serta bimbingan dari dosen pembimbing, mereka berhasil menyelesaikan proyek-proyek mereka dengan baik sambil terus belajar dan berkembang.
KKN di Biak Timur memberikan dampak jauh lebih besar daripada sekadar pembelajaran akademik. Mahasiswa mengembangkan sikap empati, keterampilan kepemimpinan, serta rasa tanggung jawab sosial yang penting dalam membangun karier profesional yang berkelanjutan.
KKN di Biak Timur menjadi perjalanan yang membentuk karakter bagi mahasiswa Program Studi Ekonomi Pembangunan Universitas Cenderawasih. Melalui pengalaman ini, mereka tidak hanya memperoleh wawasan praktis dalam aplikasi teori ekonomi, tetapi juga memberikan kontribusi yang berarti bagi pengembangan ekonomi dan sosial masyarakat setempat.
