Mimika, 8 Agustus 2023. Universitas Cenderawasih telah memainkan peran krusial dalam mempersiapkan mahasiswa semester 7 Program Studi Ekonomi Pembangunan untuk menghadapi tantangan dunia nyata. Salah satu langkah penting dalam persiapan ini adalah melalui magang di industri, yang memberikan wawasan praktis yang tak ternilai bagi para mahasiswa. Kegiatan magang berlangsung selama kurang lebih 3 bulan dimulai dari tanggal 29 Juli–28 Oktober 2023.
PT. Mpaigelah, perusahaan yang beroperasi di Mimika, menjadi tempat magang bagi mahasiswa Ekonomi Pembangunan. Dalam lingkungan ini, mahasiswa mendapatkan kesempatan untuk melihat dan memahami bagaimana prinsip-prinsip ekonomi diterapkan dalam konteks nyata, khususnya dalam sektor yang berkaitan dengan pengembangan ekonomi regional.
Melalui magang di PT. Mpaigelah, mahasiswa dapat menerapkan pengetahuan teoritis yang mereka pelajari di kelas ke dalam situasi yang sebenarnya. Mereka terlibat dalam analisis ekonomi, pemahaman tentang strategi pengembangan, serta pengelolaan sumber daya dalam lingkungan bisnis yang riil. Hal ini memperkuat pemahaman mereka tentang dinamika ekonomi lokal dan global.
Partisipasi mahasiswa Universitas Cenderawasih dalam magang di PT. Mpaigelah yang ditempatkan pada berbagai divisi seperti Contract, IR & Legal, Personalia, Safety, dan Papua affair Development (PAD). Melalui pemahaman yang mereka peroleh selama di bangku kuliah, mahasiswa dapat memberikan ide-ide inovatif dan solusi yang relevan dalam pekerjaannya di berbagai divisi di PT. Mpaigelah serta memberikan konstribusi terhadap PT tersebut.
Tentu saja, pengalaman magang tidak terlepas dari tantangan. Mahasiswa dihadapkan pada lingkungan kerja yang nyata dengan dinamika dan tuntutan yang berbeda. Namun, melalui bimbingan dan pendampingan yang baik dari supervisor magang dan dosen pembimbing, mahasiswa mampu mengatasi tantangan ini sambil terus belajar dan berkembang.
Melalui pengalaman magang di PT. Mpaigelah, mahasiswa Universitas Cenderawasih dari Program Studi Ekonomi Pembangunan memperoleh kesempatan berharga untuk mengintegrasikan teori dengan praktik dalam konteks nyata. Pengalaman ini mempersiapkan mereka untuk menghadapi tantangan dan memberikan kontribusi positif dalam pengembangan ekonomi regional.
